Gravensteen Castle

Gravensteen Castle is a medieval castle, built in 1180 AD, located in Ghent, Belgium. It was one of the residences of the Counts of Flanders and later served as the seat of the city’s court. Today, it is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a popular tourist attraction. You can explore the castle’s residence rooms, the court chamber, ancient prisons, and even the torture chamber, which still have many torture instruments on show. On the roof and battlements, you can admire an amazing view of the city. Inside, there is a small museum dedicated to the history of the city with more interactive displays. Make sure to take a walk around the grounds and gardens of the castle, where you can find a Fish pond, Herb Garden and Bower Tower.
