Brückenaffe & Alte Brücke Heidelberg

The Brückenaffe & Alte Brücke are two of the most iconic landmarks in Heidelberg, Germany. The Brückenaffe is a bronze sculpture of a monkey situated on Alte Brücke, an 18th century bridge spanning the Neckar River. Both the statue and bridge provide a stunning view of Heidelberg’s old town. The bridge provides an idyllic pathway from the old town to the upscale neighborhoods towards the south side of the river. The monkey is said to bring luck and make dreams come true, so be sure to rub its beard if you’d like to take a chance. It's worth visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon if you want to avoid the crowds and don’t forget your camera!
