Amtrak Yard and entrance to Union Station in Chicago is a great place to explore the city’s railroad history. The station was designed by Cyrus L. W. Eidlitz and was built in 1925. The beautiful river and gardens can be found from the front entrance which makes it a great spot for photography. It's an excellent example of Beaux-arts architecture, and the inside of the Entrance Hall features many 25-foot tall Corinthian columns, grand staircases, and detailed stonework. The Great Hall also displays murals crafted by American artist, Francis Millet. Visitors can explore the yard and take photos of the distinct vintage railway equipment, such as steam engines. The travel experience can be further enhanced by taking a closer look at the beautiful murals and carefully crafted ceiling ceilings.
