St David's Cathedral

St. David's Cathedral is one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the United Kingdom located in the city of St. Davids, Wales. Founded in 1115, the Cathedral is dedicated to the patron saint of Wales, St. David. The Cathedral is the resting place of countless generations of Welsh bishops and the shrine of St. David himself. The main building is mainly Norman in style, although there have been multiple periods of renovation and expansion throughout the centuries. Inside, the nave is filled with a collection of ancient tombs and memorials. The ceiling is decorated with stained glass, while a number of sculptures of Welsh saints and bishops adorn the walls. Visitors can also explore the 12th century Tower, which climbs 80 feet, providing stunning views of the neighboring countryside. Even more stunning is the neighboring Bishop’s Palace, with its own separate entrance and grounds.
