Burgruine Windeck is a medieval castle ruin in Weinheim, Germany. Reaching the castle necessitates a short hike, but the views are well worth the effort. From here, visitors can enjoy the beautiful vista of the Rhine Plain and the Odenwald mountain range. One major feature at Windeck is the gatehouse, built in the 13th century and flanked by two leaning towers. The inside of the gatehouse is a thought-provoking reminder of ages past, as it contains the original internal gateway as well as a 17th-century well. There is also a unique double tower with a winding staircase connecting the two. Also visible are the ruins of a chapel, walls, and two corner towers. Visiting Burgruine Windeck is a truly enjoyable experience.
