Scheveningen Lighthouse

Scheveningen Lighthouse is a beautiful beacon of light located on the beach at the end of the pier in Den Haag, Netherlands. Building in 1875, it is one of the oldest and still-functioning lighthouses in the country. The 30-meter tall tower is a recognized landmark, easily visible for miles along the coastline. Along with its attractive red-and-white horizontal stripes, it is a favourite amongst photographers looking for unique and iconic seascape shots. There are frequent day and night tours around the lighthouse, giving a great view of the surrounding areas, as well as a look inside the lighthouse itself. Visitors can also check out the museum attached to the lighthouse, filled with historic artifacts and stories. Its strong links to Dutch naval history also make it a popular spot.
