Ponte di Castelvecchio is an iconic historical landmark for the city of Verona, Italy. Built in the 14th century, this ancient bridge spanning the river Adige is an impressive feat of Medieval architecture, crossing the river in three segmented arches with a fourth inner arch. Perfectly positioned opposite Verona's Castelvecchio castle, the Ponte di Castelvecchio is a picture-perfect sight, representing the city with grandeur. Equally as stunning at day or night, the bridge's pale stone and bright green bridge railings are illuminated by the lights of Castelvecchio and historic buildings on the other side of the river. Don't mistake the structure for the more famous 'Ponte di Romeo', which is actually a modern-day reconstruction of the original bridge destroyed in the Second World War.
