Mezquita de Muhammad Ali

The Mezquita de Muhammad Ali is an impressive, historic mosque located in Al Abageyah in Egypt. Built in 1830, the mosque stands as a homage to the Khedive of Egypt and Sudan, Muhammad Ali Pasha. It was constructed in the traditional Ottoman style, featuring two separate entrance porches, four minarets, a courtyard and two separate prayer halls. Inside, you can find stunning detailed decorations, an incredibly ornate pulpit, and a large dome with stunning architecture. Visitors can experience the beautiful building from many angles, both inside and out, but should remember the site is a mosque, so must dress modestly. It is truly a sight to behold!
