Mam Tor

Mam Tor is a hill range in Derbyshire, England, just east of the village of Castleton. It is also known as ‘The Shivering Mountain’, due to the natural shifting of the shale rocks which form the hill. On a clear day, the hill can be seen for miles, with unparalleled views of the surrounding areas. The Peak District National Park and Kinder Scout are just two of the sites nearby. There are many paths and routes for walkers of all abilities and ages, and even a few challenging scrambles for experienced climbers. It is also popular for camping and camping/hiking holidays.
