The Lungshan Temple is a Buddhist temple located in the Wen Shui Hsiang district of Fengshan City, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Built during the Qing dynasty in 1738, the temple is dedicated to Guanyin, the goddess of mercy, and is considered to be one of the oldest temples in Taiwan. The temple is renowned for its blend of Chinese and Taiwanese architectural styles, featuring carved dragons, intricate carvings and bright-colored decorations. Inside the main hall, the temple houses three statues representing three of the five deities of mercy, including Guanyin. It also houses other items that represent traditional Chinese culture, such as a large bronze bell that dates back to the 1820s and is inscribed with a daily calendar. Visitors to the temple can explore the many intricately decorated halls, as well as enjoy spectacular views from the top of the temple's 37-meter Great Hero Pagoda. With its beautiful scenery and cultural significance, Lungshan Temple should not be missed when visiting Taiwan.
