Hsinchu Fish Harbor Lighthouse

Hsinchu Fish Harbor Lighthouse is one of the icons of Taiwan. Located in the coastal village of Nanliao, in Hsinchu, the old harbor area has been renovated in recent years. It serves as a museum-like open-air museum, with a number of historic boats, fishing nets and nets for web twine making. Thanks to the views of the Taiwan Strait, the harbor and a picturesque lighthouse, it is one of the popular photography spots in Taiwan. The lighthouse itself is a 3-story structure from the Japanese Colonial Era. It is lit day and night and serves as a reminder of Taiwan’s maritime past.
