Felgueiras Lighthouse

Felgueiras Lighthouse, in Porto, Portugal, is an impressive sight that offers breathtaking views of the Douro River, the Atlantic Ocean and the city of Porto. The lighthouse was built in 1889 and stands at 28 meters high. It was built so that ships could navigate the treacherous estuary of the Douro River in the 19th century. Visitors can gain access to the top of the lighthouse, where they can watch the sunset, visit a small museum and make use of a café and terrace bar. The area around the lighthouse offers plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, such as hiking the nearby trails, visiting a windmill and enjoying the nearby beaches. It is also the start of Rota do Alvarinho, a wine route. It is a wonderful attraction for those who love history, stunning views and a picturesque walk.
