Complejo arqueológico Moray

Moray is an extraordinary archaeological site near Maras in Peru, known for its unique circular terraces. These terraces, which resemble ancient amphitheaters, are believed to have been used by the Incas as an agricultural research station. Each of the terraces has its own microclimate, which allowed the Incas to experiment with different crops. The deepest crater is about 30 meters (98 feet) and may have temperature variations of up to 15°C (27°F) from top to bottom; perfect conditions for photos showing contrasts in light and shadow at different times of the day. The surrounding mountains provide a dramatic backdrop, ideal for awe-inspiring landscape shots. Late afternoon light can especially enhance the site's textures and contours. For the best photos, visit during the dry season, from May to October, when the skies are clearest.
