The Obelisco Sallustiano is a 25 meter high obelisk situated in the Piazza Sallustio in Rome. The monument is made of pink granite, and was erected in 1789. The obelisk is inscribed with ancient Roman writing, and depicts a lion and a griffin on top. It is surrounded by four fountains, representing the four most important cities of the ancient world: Rome, Constantinople, Ephesus and Seleucia. It is the perfect backdrop for your pictures of the heart of the Eternal City.
