Tanah Lot is a popular tourist destination in Bali, Indonesia, situated on a large rock off the coast of Bali's Beraban village. The site is popular for the impressive Pura Tanah Lot temple on the rock, which was built in the 16th century and is dedicated to the Hindu sea god Baruna. This temple is an important pilgrimage place and essential stop-off on any visit to Bali. Visitors are able to walk up the steep steps to the temple, but are not allowed to go inside. Instead, visitors can admire and take photos of the outside temple, as well as the stunning coastal views from the rock. During low tide, visitors can also walk around the rock and go even closer to the Pura Tanah Lot temple. Tanah Lot is a great place to experience Bali’s culture and history, and take beautiful sunset photos.
