Pont du Coude Brantome

The Pont du Coude Brantôme near Brantôme en Périgord, France, is a historic spot along the River Dronne. Built of pink sandstone, this graceful 16th Century bridge is thought to be the oldest in the region. It has one arch over the river with a pointed roof on one side and a sheltered gable on the other. The bridge makes for a lovely view and superb photo opportunity. The surrounding nature is also stunning, with steep cliffs and green meadows on either side of the river. A short walk from the bridge is the 12th Century Cistercian abbey of Brantôme. The abbey is a beautiful complex, and a must-see when visiting the Pont du Coude Brantôme.
