Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge spans the San Francisco Bay from San Francisco to Sausalito, and is one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. Completed in 1937, the suspension bridge is one of the most visited places in the United States. Spanning 8,980 feet with two 746-foot towers, the bridge allows vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians to travel across the Bay. At night, the Golden Gate Bridge is lighted up with bright orange lights, making it a spectacular sight. There are many iconic views of the bridge, from the San Francisco Bay, the Marin Headlands, and Sausalito, to name a few. Visitors can take a ferry to Sausalito from the San Francisco wharf, or take a walk over the bridge from the Marin Headlands and take in the breathtaking views. Many travelers also opt for bike rentals near Fisherman’s Wharf for a leisurely ride across the bridge and back.
