Colonna dell’Immacolata

The Colonna dell' Immacolata is a majestic column in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. It was built in the early 19th century by architect Francesco Buttitta in honour of the Immaculate Conception. At the top of the column is a statue of the Virgin Mary with her hands outstretched in a form of blessing. It stands at 58-metres tall, making it a very imposing structure in the city's skyline.
