Mendenhall Glacier is a glacier located 12 miles east of Juneau, Alaska. The glacier stretches from the Juneau Icefield, flowing 12 miles down to Mendenhall Lake. The Outlet Glacier of Mendenhall is one of the most accessible glaciers in the world, easily visible at only a few miles from the State Capital of Alaska. The Mendenhall glacieres highlights are the stunning beauty of the glacier and its surrounding valley. The area has an expansive trail system, offering ample opportunities for exploring and wildlife viewing. Many visitors take the trail to the back side of the glacier, leading hikers to key overlooks as well as a dazzling view of Nugget Falls.
