Slioch

Slioch is a mountain situated in the Letterewe area of Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands. It is particularly well known for its beautiful views over Loch Maree and its surrounding hills. While the mountain itself is relatively low (925m at its highest point) its difficult steepness gives it a imposing presence. Despite its difficulty, ocassionally the area around the peak is used by hill-walkers. The lower parts of the mountain provide good grazing land and you may spot some of the rugged local sheep. Photographers will delight in the range of rich colours Slioch has to offer; from the vibrancy of the heather and bracken, to the deep blue of the loch. The area offers ample opportunities for capturing beautiful landscapes, wildlife and nature shots.
