Mount Tamalpais

Mount Tamalpais is an iconic peak that’s part of Marin County's Mount Tamalpais State Park. Its summit, East Peak, is the highest point in Marin County. Mount Tamalpais is an oasis of wild landscape surrounded by an ultra-urban environment: The scenery ranges from serene coastlines to rugged mountaintops and offers some of the most spectacular views in California. It's a favorite location for day hikes and exploring, with numerous trails and a few popular spots like Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, and Tomales Bay. It's also home to a wide variety of wildlife, plants, and fauna. From the mountaintop, visitors can observe the San Francisco skyline in the distance. There are plenty of camping, picnicking, and sightseeing opportunities available in the park.
