Monastero di Santa Maria di Poblet is a beautiful and unique Cistercian monastery located in the small town of Poblet, Spain. It's the oldest, most important and best-preserved of all the Cistercian monasteries in Europe, and one of the four most important monasteries in the world. The site is also home to a group of Franciscan monks. The complex consists of three 14th-century buildings surrounded by a hilly, wooded estate and features gorgeous stonework, and stunning stained glass windows. Visitors can take a guided tour to take in all the ancient architecture, and explore the complex’s impressive interior and exterior. You can also find a museum, an info center which houses a collection of artifacts, including sculptures, paintings and a collection of religious items. In the peaceful gardens, visitors can take in the stunning views of the surrounding countryside and take in the tranquil atmosphere.
