Molen 't Hert

Molen 't Hert is a historic windmill located on the shores of the Grevelingen in the tiny Dutch village of Ellemeet. This polder mill dates back to the 19th century, and though it originally operated up until 1950, it has since been beautifully preserved and restored as a cultural monument. The unique octagonal smock mill stands four stories high, with the brickwork and cap adorned with two sets of sails, with four blades on each. The noteworthy exterior is augmented by stunning views of the surrounding waves, forming an ideal environment for photographers. For visitors, friendly local groups offer guided visits to the mill for a fee; these include exclusive access to parts of the interior, educational talks about its history, and useful advice about its maintenance. Visitors can also take a short stroll around the beach to contemplate the sights and appreciate its proximity to the North Sea.
