L'Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile

L'Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile is an iconic monument located in the heart of Paris at the western end of the Champs-ÉlysÉES. It is one of the city’s most recognized landmarks, and was Napoleon's tribute to his victories. Standing 50 metres tall and 45 metres wide, it is the world’s largest triumphal arch, and is etched with intricate sculptures and inscriptions of Napoleon’s victories. Climb to the top of the arch to get a magnificent view of Paris’s most famous monuments including the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, Place de la Concorde, and the Eiffel Tower. There are 284 steps to the top, but it’s worth the climb! Underneath the arch lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is surrounded by an eternal flame. This tribute to fallen soldiers is watched over by a sentinelle.
