Kopiec Powstania Warszawskiego

Kopiec Powstania Warszawskiego is an iconic landmark located in downtown Warsaw, Poland. It is a monument commemorating the 1944 Warsaw Uprising in which the Polish resistance fought off the Nazi occupation. Standing 31 meters high, it is one of the most recognisable symbols of solidarity and pride in the nation of Poland. The monument is divided into two parts - a central concrete structure, which is covered in a synthetic grass, and a wide terrace with a low wall running around it and stairs to the top. Visitors can wander around the terrace and enjoy the views of the city from above. Between the terrace and the concrete structure stands a bust of General Tadeusz Bor-Komorowski - the leader of the Warsaw Uprising. The Kopiec Powstania Warszawskiego offers a unique experience of recalling the powerful story of insurgency and resistance during World War II.
