Kolsay Lake

Located in the countryside of northern Kazakhstan, Kolsay Lake is one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan. This alpine lake is fed by three rivers, and significantly changes color depending on the weather and season. From its crystal clear waters, rolling green hills can be seen, creating a very picturesque spot. During summer months, the lake is surrounded by lush vegetation, while in winter its ice is used for ice fishing. In the area surrounding Kolsay Lake, visitors can find wander amongst rocky mountains, limestone cliffs, painted valleys and meadows that are often covered with beautiful wildflowers. This lake is a great place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the views - whether you’re a photographer or just looking to get away from it all.
