Grundarfjörður Church

Grundarfjörður Church, located on Grundarfjörður Bay in northwest Iceland, is one of Iceland's most picturesque churches. With its steeple and whitewashed timber facade pointing towards the impressive Kirkjufell Mountain and the sea beyond, it is an icon of the Icelandic landscape. Inside, the church is decorated with historic woodcarving and beautiful paintings of scenes from Icelandic folklore and the Bible. The church was constructed in 1901 and still serves as a place of worship.
