Catedral de La Plata

The Cathedral of La Plata, located in the city of La Plata, Argentina, is the main Catholic temple of the city and one of the most important monuments of the country. Constructed over a period of 23 years by the Italian architect Gaston Brunelli, the cathedral boasts a mixture of architectural styles, from baroque to modern. It features highlights such as the stained-glass windows on either side of the main facade, the Statue of Christ the King on the central dome and the 22 bells inside the four towers. On the inside, visitors can marvel at the impressive mosaics and the ceiling paintings of Francisco Estévez. Its interior furnishes also bear testimony to its past and its rich history, making it a must-visit spot in La Plata.
