Ambras Castle, located in Innsbruck, Austria is a beautiful Renaissance style fortress which stands proudly atop the city's hills. First built in 1090, the castle has long been the residential seat of the rulers of the region and has been carefully restored and maintained over the years. Today, the Ambras Manor House offers fine examples of 16th and 17th century aristocratic life. Don't miss the arms chamber, the Spanish Hall, and the Chamber of Art and Curiosities for a glimpse into a time long gone. The gardens and courtyards are breathtaking, with fountains, mazes, and colorful flower beds adding to the charm and mystic of the castle.
