Light Houses

Philadelphia is home to a fantastic collection of lighthouses, with something to please everyone. There are several sites to visit, including the Drum Point Lighthouse, located on a scenic natural peninsula, and Tinicum Rear Range Light, which is open to the public on select days for tours, as well as for picture-taking. There’s also the Point No Point Lighthouse, a delightful brick structure that was built in 1877 and served as an important navigational aid. Visitors can catch a glimpse of the historic red brick lighthouse tucked away in Tinicum Marsh. Then there’s the Bristol Ferry Range Light, which stands at the entrance of the Mantua Creek. This lighthouse was retired from active service in 1943, but today is a popular spot for visitors to capture beautiful photographs of the tranquil Delaware River.
