Lake Neuchâtel

Lake Neuchâtel is an Alpine lake located in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. The lake is about 36 km long, up to 4 km wide and around 212 m at its deepest point. It is quite shallow, with an average depth of 94 m. Its stunning turquoise waters rise from the Jura mountains, and is fed by several rivers and tributaries, such as the Areuse and Seyon. Along its shores are numerous sites of interest, major cities, vineyards and beautiful countryside. One of the main attractions is the Longerich castle which towers over the lake. The lake is also a great place for boat trips, swimming, sailing and watersports, with several beaches and marinas along its banks. In addition, its shores are home to many fine restaurants and bars, shops and other amenities.
