Hungarian Parliament Building

Budapest is one of Europe's most beautiful cities and its Parliament Building and St. Stephen's Basilica are definitely among its star attractions. The Parliament Building stands on the riverbank of the Danube and is based on a design inspired by Westminster in London. It is ornately decorated with statues and surrounded by an impressive botanical garden. Inside, visitors can admire the vast central hall, decorated with neo-Gothic murals.

St. Stephen's Basilica is a grand Neo-Classical structure and the largest church in Budapest. The domed building is named after Hungary's first Christian king, St. Stephen and its enormous dome stands 96 meters tall. The interior is richly decorated with patterned marble floors and walls, stained glass windows and chandeliers. Its seventh altar is in fact a mausoleum containing the humerus of St. Stephen himself. Visitors can also take the elevator to the top of the basilica and enjoy sweeping views over Budapest.
