Vitré Castle is a remarkable example of a medieval fortress located in Vitré, France. The castle was built in the 12th century, and is recognizable for its unique turreted walls surrounding the inner complex. One of the most notable features of the castle is its huge keep, or towered residence, which is built with alternating layers of granite and limestone.
