The Clock of Cișmigiu is located in Cismigiu Park, in the very heart of Bucharest. Built in 1891, the clock is a beautiful iron-framed structure, decorated with intricate patterns of the Romanian Brancoveanu style and which stands guard over the park. The clock is a historical monument, one of the few remaining vestiges of the city's Belle Epoque, and a much-visited landmark by both locals and tourists. The clock is a reliable source of information for both park-goers and passersby who can’t help but observe the elaborate structure telling the hour. The clock’s decorative elements are enhanced by subtle lighting at nightfall, making it an attractive photographic subject.
