The Statue of 8 August in Parco Montagnola is a popular Bologna sight located in the beautiful Parco Montagnola. This monument, which was built in memory of the Battle of Loiano, depicts a soldier holding a flag and is a reminder of the freedom of the Italian people. The Parco Montagnola is a wonderful place to take a stroll and relax, with a large meadow, two lakes, and a variety of trees and plants that create a serene setting. The park also has a climbing wall as well as plenty of picnic benches and playgrounds. Bike rental is also available. A great way to take in the beauty of the park is to take one of the guided walking tours that happen regularly. There's also the Bologna Bike Tour, which allows you to explore the city on two wheels.
