St. Pius Church in Meggen, Switzerland, is a Roman Catholic church, located on a hill overlooking Lake Lucerne. Built in 1865 in the neo-Gothic style, the church features an impressive 300-foot spire, a frescoed apse, and a dragon-shaped sculpture above the southern entrance. Inside the church, visitors can admire a famous modern altar and beautiful stained glass windows, a richly decorated high altar, and a Rococo pulpit. The building is also home to the Piusbrunnen, a central attraction for pilgrims, which consists of a fountain depicting Pope Pius IX. Visitors can also explore the cemetery of the church and its attractive park. There is plenty to discover in the small town of Meggen, and the surrounding area, and the view from the hilltop is a great photo opportunity.
