Santa Maria Assunta detta I Gesuiti is a beautiful Baroque-style church located in the city of Venice, Italy. It was built in the 17th century, and is characterised by its majestic façade featuring many columns and statues. Inside the church, visitors can marvel at the wealth of artworks and altarpieces, including Master Donato’s stunning painting ‘The Coronation of the Virgin’. The marble floor of the church is marked with the symbol of the Jesuits, the only order currently allowed to perform baptisms in the basilica.
