Burnham Harbor Pier S is a man-made harbor located along Chicago’s lakefront in the city’s near South Side. It serves as an important port facility where tankers, tugs, barges, recreational vessels, and the occasional boatload of tourists are welcomed. The harbor is home to the Chicago Yacht Club, the 31st Street Harbor, and Navy Pier, one of the city’s famous landmarks and an important transportation hub. There are also many places to explore along the harbor's shoreline, including historic sites, beautiful beaches, and excellent restaurants. Visitors who want to take in the view can take a scenic harbor cruise, or visit the Adler Planetarium to observe the stars.
