The Basilica di San Martino is one of the most iconic landmarks in Bologna, Italy. Located in the heart of the city, it is a beautiful and fascinating church built in the 13th century. Its tall spire, reminiscent of a tower, stands out among the other buildings, and the surrounding plaza is a great vantage point for watching the crowds and street musicians of the city. Inside, the basilica has a large central nave lit by a beautiful stained glass window at one end and a high dome at the other. A number of stone sculptures and other works of art add to the grandeur of the building. Visitors may also take in the crypt and visit the annexed Wunderkammer, a museum displaying relics found in the crypt.
