Torre dell'orologio

Torre dell'orologio is an impressive clock tower perched at the top of a steep flight of stairs in Castelbuono, Italy. It was built in 1590 to protect the village and its inhabitants when the Mediterranean Arabic pirates were frequently passing by. Today, the castle is the home of an old family, set in a beautiful garden full of trees, fruit and vegetables. A special attraction is the 19th-century clock which is fully visible from the square below.
