Thor’s Well

Thor’s Well is an otherworldly natural attraction located on the Oregon Coast near Yachats. Thor’s Well is a twenty-four foot wide “sink hole” which is constantly filled and drained by the powerful ocean surf. The scene is unlike anything else in the world, making it a popular photo destination for visitors to Oregon. Best viewed during storms and high tide, Thor’s Well is accessible via the Captain Cook Trail, located at the end of Thor’s Well Cove. Visitors should exercise caution when visiting Thor’s Well due to strong currents and large waves.
