Schloss Paffendorf

Schloss Paffendorf is a castle located in Bergheim, Germany. Built in 1650, it became a baroque castle in 1740. It is considered the most important sight in Bergheim, and its surrounding gardens are a popular destination for locals and visitors. The two-hectare castle park is not only renowned for its unique plants and trees from across the world, but visitors can also see small ponds, breathtaking fountains, an orangerie, and more. Tourists can enjoy the view of surrounding vineyards and the nearby river Erft from the castle's terrace. There is a museum on the lower floor of the castle that displays the castle's history and various artifacts, ranging from antiques to armory and items from its former occupants. Visitors can also go on a guided tour of the castle and its gardens, which are open from April to October.
