Point Conception

Point Conception is one of the most important natural landmarks along the Pacific Coast of the United States. It is located in Santa Barbara County, California, where it marks the traditional western boundary of the Chumash people. This remote headland is a beautiful landscape, with steep cliffs and huge rock formations. Another attraction is the lighthouse and fog signal station, built in 1856, which is still in active service. Visitors can also explore tidepools, tide locks and the surrounding pristine wildlife refuge that is home to many species of birds, marine life, and other flora and fauna. Point Conception is a great place to enjoy the beauty of nature, observe wildlife, and go on hikes, however please be aware that this area is secluded and potentially dangerous.
