Pigeon Point Lighthouse

Pigeon Point Lighthouse, in Pescadero, United States is a historic lighthouse located on the coast of California. Built in 1871, it stands as a sentinel to ships travelling the Pacific Ocean. Its Fresnel lens, a marvel of engineering and optics, is one of the largest ever built and still operates today. Visitors can enjoy views of the ocean from the walkway around the lighthouse, and from the base where the gift shop and visitor center are located. A wildlife sanctuary is located on the grounds and adjacent to the lighthouse, making it a great place to observe feathered wildlife, including bald eagles and osprey, as well as mammals such as harbor seals and sea otters. It is open to the public to visit and take pictures as well.
