Old Pack Horse Bridge in Carrbridge, Highland Council, is a remarkable historical site dating back to 1717. It is the oldest stone bridge of its kind in the Highlands, originally constructed to facilitate travel for pedestrians and packhorses across the River Dulnain. The bridge is famous for its distinctive, arching silhouette, which becomes especially photogenic when juxtaposed against the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, particularly in autumn when vibrant foliage frames the scene. Given its age and condition, it's advisable to photograph from a distance as the bridge is now pedestrian-only, mainly to preserve its fragile state. Nearby, the Cairngorms National Park offers an additional wealth of photo opportunities with its diverse wildlife and dramatic scenery.
