Mount Evans

Mount Evans is the highest mountain peak in the Colorado Rockies. Situated in Idaho Springs, Colorado, the summit of Mount Evans stands at an elevation of 14,265 feet above sea level. The area is abundant in wildlife, and is home to bighorn sheep, mountain goats, pikas, and more. On the way to the top, you’ll be able to take in the beauty of the surrounding area, including the St. Mary’s Glacier and Summit Lake. The road leading to the summit is the highest paved in the United States and offers access to one of the best views of the Continental Divide. Hiking and camping is also possible around the summit, and with the exception of winter, when it is closed due to snow, the area is open year-round.
