Leópolis

Leópolis and Union of Lublin Mound are two important landmarks located in Lviv, Ukraine.

The Leópolis is a large scale monumental sculpture that commemorates the union of the Ukrainian lands in 1569. It shows the famous union of three crowns of the Rzeczpospolita and the crossed swords. It was built in 17th century and is listed as a cultural heritage of Ukraine. The Union of Lublin Mound is a tribute to the signing of the Union of Lublin in 1569, when the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Kingdom of Poland and the Duchy of Rus' Lithuanian were united into a single state in the form of the Commonwealth of Poland and Lithuania. The monument is a large-scale fanciful structure located at the foothill of Mount Zaluski, adorned with a cross made of bronze.
