Château de Langeais

The Château de Langeais is an impressive castle situated in Langeais, France. Built in the late 15th century, this fortress was constructed by Anne de Lancaster, Count of Dunois, who served as King Charles VII's advisor. It is regarded as a major surviving example of a fortified French medieval castle with its structure maintained largely unaltered since 1465. It features two defensive towers connected by a large rectangular curtain wall, which gives this castle its distinct appearance. Visitors can explore the interior of the castle, including the royal apartments filled with Renaissance furnishings, tapestries, and sculptures. There is also a chapel filled with 15th century glass windows. The higher walls offer a breathtaking view of the surroundings, as well as of the nearby Loire Valley.
