Arco dell'Elefante

Arco dell'Elefante is a stunning natural arch in Pantelleria, Italy. It is made up of volcanic rocks, formed thousand years ago by the power of the wind and sea erosion and stands just 20 meters from the shore. It is a fantastic sight, especially when seen from the sea, and is a great spot for swimming - the sea close by is deep and the waters are crystal clear. Visitors can also sunbathe and relax by the arch, or explore the adjacent caves. Its shape and position makes it a fantastic subject to photograph, although you don't need a camera to appreciate this extraordinary geologic phenomenon.
