Torre metálica, in Ibirapuera Park, São Paulo, Brazil, is a modernist metal sculpture. Designed by Brazilian architect Francisco Fanucci, it was built in 1958 for the São Paulo Museum of Art. Torre metálica takes the form of a 36-meter-tall spiral of tile, steel and concrete. Its design is inspired by works of modernist masters such as Le Corbusier and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. It is one of the most iconic landmarks of Ibirapuera Park, one of the biggest and most famous green spaces in Latin America. Visitors can get an inside look at the spiral structure by climbing the steps to the top and enjoying a panoramic view of the city.
